Dorothy A. (Kohlmeier) Cox

Dorothy A. Cox, age 92 of Massillon, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021.  
She was born April 2, 1929, in Massillon the daughter of the late Francis Kohlmeier and Miriam (Rohr) Schafer.  
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she volunteered at St. Joe's Soup Kitchen.  She enjoyed being active, reading and baking for her family.
Dorothy is survived by sons, Timothy Cox (Juanita), Gregory A. (Janet) Cox, David Cox (Kathy Geschwind); daughter Cynthia (Guy) Brown; brothers Bob Kohlmeier and Volney “Bud” Schafer; sister Elaine Young; grandchildren Alison, Brandon, Kristin, Matt, Emily, and Preston; and four great-grandchildren, Marla, Liam, Finnegan, and Madilyn.  
She was preceded in death by her husband John W. Cox, sons John, Jeff, Tom and Kim Cox, daughter-in-law Pamela Cox, granddaughter Misse, and brother Terry Schafer. 
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 10 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon with Fr. Raymond Paul celebrant.  
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W.
Burial to follow the service at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. 
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph's Soup Kitchen.
