Edward M. Sabaka

Edward M. Sabaka, age 98, of Perry Township., went home to be with his Lord Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center.

He was born May 26, 1924, in Cleveland, the son of the late Michael and Mabel (Patrick) Sabaka.

He was an Army veteran serving during WWII.

Edward was a retired teacher from Canton South High School after 20 years of service.  

He was a member of Calvary Bible Baptist Church in Perry Township.  He was also a long time member of Canton Baptist Temple.  He loved woodworking, hiking, and rollerblading. 

Edward is survived by sons, David (Connie) Sabaka and Chuck (Sandy) Sabaka; five grandchildren, Christy (Dennis) Peters, Andy (Andrea) Sabaka, Katie Sabaka, Jenny Sabaka (Rod Morgan), Emily (Jordan) Smith; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was reunited with his wife of 70 years, Shirley I. (Edwards) Sabaka; and brothers, Mel, Ray, and Jim.

Calling hours will be held at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon, on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Private burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
