Gerald M. "Jerry" Ekmark, age 83, of Jackson Twp., passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born July 3, 1938, in Akron, the of son of the late Emil and Bertha (Geckler) Ekmark.
Jerry was a veteran and served in the United States Marine Corp.
Jerry retired from Xerox where he was a service tech for over 40 years. He was an active member of Sts. Philip and James Parish. He was assistant leader in Boy Scouts Troop #257 for over 40 years taking all four sons and grandson through the scouting programs.
Jerry was devoted to his family and is survived by his wife of 58 years, Annabelle (O'Connell) Ekmark, sons, Brian Ekmark, Edward (Pam) Ekmark, Michael (Sabrina) Ekmark, and Matthew Ekmark; sister, Jane Kerns; brother, Ray Ekmark. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Everett, Elissa, and AnnaLynne who were the light of his life.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, David and Bill Ekmark.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon 44646.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11 A.M. at Sts. Philip and James Parish, 412 High St. Canal Fulton, Ohio 44614.
