James E. Brahm Sr., age 82 of Massillon, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born August 26, 1938, in Massillon the son of the late Clarence and Nellie (Welch) Brahm. He was an Army veteran. James retired from Ohio Drilling after 47 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Massillon Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree. He enjoyed working Bingo with St. Mary’s and Knights of Columbus. James is survived by daughter, Julie (Dave) Harman; son, Charles "Ted" E. Brahm; Daughter-in-law, Rosie Brahm; grandchildren, Jamie and Cosmo Brahm, Kylee (Jake) Butler, Kaitlyn Harman; brother, Tom (Barb) Brahm; sisters-in-law, Marcella Johnson and Martha Eberhardt; brothers-in-law, Jerome Kemp and Larry Rohr; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by wife, Mary Brahm, son, James Brahm, Jr.; siblings, Sandy Selin, Becky Mikus, John Brahm; sisters-in-law, Carolanne Kemp, Therese Rohr; brothers-in-law, Jerome Leo Eberhardt and Charles Johnson. All services will require COVID 19 Protocol. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, at 10:30am with Rev. Edward Gretchko celebrant. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 17 at Heitger Funeral Home Massillon Chapel, 639 1st St NE, from 6pm to 8pm. Burial to follow the service at St. Mary Cemetery in Massillon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
