Joann M. (Matuschak) Etter

Joann M. (Matuschak) Etter, age 74, of Jackson Twp., died from cancer Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Cleveland Clinic.
She was born June 6, 1948, in Akron, the daughter of the late Stephen and Betty (McCartney) Matuschak.
Joann loved beach vacations with family and friends, especially if they included digging into some delicious Maryland blue crabs. She was a great cook and will be remembered for family favorites like sticky chicken, stuffed peppers, meatloaf, pot roast, and her famous secret sauce for steaks. She loved to dine out, but her favorite place was Belgrade Gardens. She was an avid reader, Netflix binger, and Survivor superfan. She never missed a sporting, academic, or artistic event for her boys and her grandchildren. She enjoyed lunches with her girlfriends and spending time with her Aultman West water aerobics friends.
Joann is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard W. Etter; sons, Timothy (Julia) Etter, Jason Etter, and Jeff Etter; grandchildren, Megan, Taylor, and Sam Etter; and brother, Tom (Pat) Matuschak.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at  Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales, Ave. N.W., Massillon, OH 44646 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. A memorial service will follow beginning at 8 P.M.
