John F. Sibila, age 103 of Massillon, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018.
He was born July 1, 1915, in Massillon the son of Arthur and Alma (Reichel) Sibila.
John owned and operated Ventura Shoe Repair for 32 years.
He was a Army veteran serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during WWII.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where he was head usher for many years. John also belonged to the K of C Council #554, 3rd Degree, VFW Post # 3124, American Legion Post #221, and Tiger Gun Club.
John is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Daniel Montemayor; grandson, Jon (Katie) Montemayor; and granddaughter Amanda Montemayor.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Sandra (Ventura) Sibila, and his sister Helen "Betty" Blackstone.
Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at 11 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Gretchko officiating.
Calling hours will be held prior to the Mass at the church beginning at 10 A.M.
Burial to follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Inn at University Village and Crossroads Hospice for the loving care given to John.
