Joseph E. Pape, age 84 of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021.
He was born November 26, 1936, in Massillon the son of the late Joseph E. and Stella (Koehn) Pape.
Joseph retired from Ekco Housewares. He was a member Massillon Moose #481, St. Barbara Catholic Church and was active in St. Barbara Social Club, Men's Club and worked special events at the church fish fries, draw down dinners and sports banquets. He was also inducted into the Stark County Softball Hall of Fame, and coached St. Barbara Basketball.
Joseph is survived by sons and daughters-in-law; Vincent and Chris Pape, Mark and Vicki Pape, David and Cathie Pape, Joseph and Bonnie Pape, daughter and son-in-law; Dena and Chris Brogden, sisters; , Betty Trubisky, and Donna Fulton, grandchildren; Jarrod, Courtney and Derek Pape, Margo and Mitchell Pape, Logan and Gabrielle Pape, Kyle (Alyse) Krug, Macy (James) Hammontree, and Zachary Brogden.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Linda (Babb) Pape, and siblings, Richard Pape, Norma Kritzer, Carol Taylor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 at St. Barbara Catholic Church, 2813 Lincoln Way W, Massillon, OH 44647, at 10:30am with Rev. Thomas Bishop celebrant.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Rd NW, from 2pm to 5pm and on Monday at St. Barbara Catholic Church an hour prior to the service from 9:30am to 10:30am.
Burial to follow the service Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
