Karen left this world today after a prolonged illness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Terry; son, Eric; grandchildren, Alexander (Jaclyn), Peter (Michelle), and Catherine Klein; and four great grandchildren. Karen was born Karen nee Brannan in Michigan and moved to Massillon as a toddler with her mother and three older brothers. She attended Longfellow school in Massillon where she was student editor of the school newspaper and later Washington high school. While in high school she met her future husband at church youth group event. After graduating in 1960, she worked as a records clerk at Ohio Edison in Massillon. In 1963, she married Terry Klein and gave him a baby boy in 1964. Karen was a stay at home, caring mother while also being active at First United Methodist Church, and as a den mother. She was active in the Massillon New England garden club and the Canton Garden Center. Later she worked as a sales clerk at Treen's Draperies She enjoyed landscaping and was a registered landscape design critic until health concerns interfered. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 10 to 11 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - JACKSON CHAPEL, 5850 Wales Ave NW, Massillon. Memorial service will follow beginning at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 301 Lincoln Way East, Massillon, Ohio 44646.
