Kathleen J. Ringley, age 62, passed away unexpectedly in her home on July 28, 2021. Born and raised in Massillon Ohio, she was a graduate of Massillon, Washington High School. She studied Clarinet, Piano, Percussion, and Viola at Mount Union College and earned her Master’s of Music Education/Conducting, from The University of Akron. For many who knew her well, she was known as the “Woodstock” lady. Many life-long friends and students consider her instrumental in shaping their love for the arts; working early on at Marlington and Tuslaw High Schools and then at Central Catholic High School, where she served as the Choir Director, Drama Director, and Music Specialist for 21 years. She loved all things “Broadway” and served many years as Musical Director for The Canton Player’s Guild; two of her favorites were in 1995 and 1996 when she shared the stage with her brother, “Timmy”, in the production of “The Christmas Carol”. Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Paul “Junie” Ringley and mother, Rita “Pinkie” Ringley. She is survived by her older brothers, William “Billy” Ringley, and Timothy (Amy) Ringley all of Massillon, along with many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Kathy’s wishes were to be cremated, and her life celebration will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11 A.M. with Fr. Raymond Paul celebrant.
Visitation will be at the church prior to the service from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her memory to the Canton Players Guild.
