Kenneth M. Chaperlo

Kenneth M. Chaperlo, age 67 of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
He was a 1969 graduate of Washington High School.  He served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He retired from the former Republic Steel with 34 years of service.  He was a member of the Massillon Eagles #190 and St. Mary's Catholic Church.  He was an avid Massillon Tiger Fan, Ohio State Fan and Cincinnati Bengals fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Veronica (Brand) Chaperlo.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Kathleen (Rankins) Chaperlo, son Craig and Miranda Chaperlo and their children Kylie, Hailey and Rylee, son Curtis Chaperlo and Melissa Houk and their children Senna, Aria and Ezra;  son Keith Chaperlo and Melinda Harter and their children Gabriel, Bella and Ryleigh, and son Kevin Chaperlo.   He also leaves brothers Ricky (Michelle) Chaperlo, nephew James, brother Donald Chaperlo, sister Joann (Jim) Pinter nieces Sarah and Cassie, and the extended Rankins family and also his cat Sofie.  He loved to go to movies and shooting ranges with his sons.  He loved to take his grandchildren to movies, out to eat and to parks.  He will be greatly missed by his entire family.      
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 11 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Gretchko celebrant.  Burial with military honors will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville. 
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 5 to 8 P.M.  at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel. 
His family would like to thank Mercy Medical Center, Drs. Iqbal, Garton, Sabe, Sawhney, Morten and Janda, nurses and staff for all the excellent care they have given him through the years, and also Cheri Reed and Linda Bailey for all their love and support.
