Ludivina "Ludi" Lyons Obituary

LUDIVINA "LUDI" LYONS

Age 87, Our sweet mother passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 surrounded by her children.  We take comfort in knowing that she is with our dad, Ken Lyons, who was the love of her life.  She was the rock we all leaned on, the heart and soul of our family.  A mother's love is like no other, and we had the best.

Ludi met and married our dad when he was in the Air Force, stationed in her hometown, Laredo, Texas.  They made Canton their home in 1954.  Upon raising four children, Ludi ventured into the Retail Business.  She started her career at O'Neil's, onto Halle's and finally retiring from The May Company. Ludi was one of the first employees of Belden Village Mall.   She was a Ralph Lauren specialist, dressing the finest ladies in Canton.  Everywhere we went, someone knew our mother.  Her clients became her friends.

Upon retirement, which we forced upon her, Ludi supported all her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids in all their endeavors.  Whether it be babysitting, spoiling all the little ones with her bottomless cookie jar, or all our sporting events, she was there for us.  She was always up for a venture to the flea market or taking us out to lunch.  Her life was her family.

She is survived by four children: Jo Ann Meister (Rob), Paula Ohman, Kenny Lyons (Laura), and Susan Van Almen (Todd); eleven grandchildren that were her pride and joy: Kristina and Kelli Ohman, Jennifer Janson (Jesse), Andrea Wild (Vitek), Alex Lyons (Melissa), Tim Herstine (Brittney), Holly Lewis (Chris), Josie Lyons, Bekah Berg (Patrick), Emily Tetzloff and Brevonta Van Almen; and her thirteen great-grandchildren whom she adored:  Adrianna, Conner, Nicolas, Braydan, Brody, Jacob, Benjamin, Joseph, Victoria, Brock, Eleanor,  Evan and Mason: siblings: Gregoria, Tomas, Alicia and Armando and many nieces and nephews.  She also leaves behind her best friend, Alice Clatterbuck.

Greeting her in Heaven along with her husband, Kenneth Ray Lyons, were her parents, sister and brothers and great-grandson Steven, and a world of friends.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Canton on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 11 am with Father Patrick Manning celebrant.  Burial to follow the service at Sunset Hills Burial Park.  Condolences to the family may be made here on our tribute wall.
