Robert Warren Obituary

Robert J. Warren, 74, of Uniontown, Ohio, passed away on April 14, 2021, in the company of family. He was born August 13, 1946, in Elkhart, Indiana, to the late Robert L. and Mary M. (Jones) Warren. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Pamela (Engelman), and four children, Robert J. Warren II (Kim) of Buffalo, New York, Stephanie Maenhout of Mishawaka, Indiana, Brian Warren (Dawn) of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, and Alison Warren (James Jacobson) of Scottsdale, Arizona, two grandchildren, Carma Maenhout and Justin Warren, and eight siblings. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister.

Bob graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree. He obtained his MBA from Kent State University, North Canton, Ohio. He retired in 2010 after a 29-year career at Diebold, Inc., as a CPA, vice president and treasurer. At Diebold, he developed the mergers and acquisitions department. In that role, he traveled the globe, acquiring more than 2 million air miles. Even after retirement, he traveled extensively, including to Uganda and Antarctica, and was proud that he had visited all seven continents.

More than his business sense, Bob was known for his big heart and easy smile. He was the steady hand in the family, with an ever-present sense of humor. He genuinely cared for people he met, whether it was a neighbor, a grocery store clerk, or the security guard at work. He was always open to helping others in any way he could; a person only needed to ask. He was the most genuine, generous, selfless person many people had ever met.

Bob was deeply in love with his wife Pam; theirs was a beautiful, loving, giving relationship, and she adored him too. Family was extremely important to him, especially his beloved parents, who he sent on travels across the country and to Europe. He always had a twinkle in his eye that really shone when he smiled. He was a hard negotiator at work, but was always fair. People came to respect him, even if they sat on the other side of the table.

Bob was a member of the Sisters of Charity Foundation and served as its president.
