Rose Marie (Pozonitz) Monago

Rose Marie (Pozonitz) Monago was born in Akron, Ohio, on November 17, 1941, and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 23, 2023. 

Rose Marie graduated from St. Mary’s High School (Akron, Ohio) in 1959 and was married to Frank on Sept 2, 1961. They were married for almost 62 years.

She was a loving mom to four children: Laura (Tim) Wolfe, Liz (Paul) Engelhardt, Frank Jr (Natalie) Monago, Karen (Marty) Marinos; grandma of eight grandchildren: Ashley (Jim) Leasure, Heather (David) Baker, Chloe Wolfe, Grace Monago, Cole Monago, Mitchell Marinos, Malia Marinos and Leo Tudas; and great-grandma of two great-grandchildren: Brielle and Callie Baker.

Rose Marie worked at McDonald’s and eventually retired from Fedorko Chiropractic in 2008. Since then, she worked for The Goddard School of Akron and Jackson Township as the Director of Accounting.

She enjoyed going to monthly breakfasts with her high school friends. She was an avid reader, loved working on puzzles, her iPad, and watching Jeopardy and her favorite soap operas, Days of Our Lives and Another World. She never missed an episode of NCIS or Castle.

Rose Marie loved spending time with her family, especially the tradition of making Christmas cookies while watching her favorite movie “White Christmas,” hosting and cooking for her family at holidays and game nights. She never missed an event involving her kids or grandkids. She was their #1 fan.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Heitger Funeral Home - JACKSON CHAPEL, from 5 to 7 P.M.  
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10 A.M. at the funeral home.   
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Special Olympics Ohio, 3303 Winchester Pike, Columbus, Ohio 43232.
