Sandra "Sandy" Sue (Shanklin) Cecil

Sandra “Sandy” Cecil, age 71 of Massillon passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at her home. 

She was born November 28, 1949 in Massillon the daughter of the late Blake and Lucille (Simon) Shanklin. 

Sandy was a homemaker. She loved camping, her roses, and all of her dogs. Sandy also enjoyed watching Ohio State and Massillon Tiger Football.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She would never miss a chance to watch her grandchildren play ball, attend grandparents day or school plays.
Her favorite times were holidays and get-togethers when her whole family would be together in one place. 

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John “Jac” Cecil; daughter, Lynnette (Cliff) Wilson; sister, Debbie (Todd) Leonard; brother-in-law, Victor (Maria) Cecil; grandchildren, Jessica, Anthony, Samantha, Clayton, and Savannah Wilson; great-granddaughter, Alice Wilson and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronnie and Larry Shanklin. 

A celebration of life will be held at Earl Lake Park, 633 Earl Rd NW, Massillon, OH 44647 on Sunday, August 29th, 2021 beginning at 2pm. All are welcome and encouraged to come. 

Inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273 on August 31, 2021 at 2:15pm. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, 726 First Street NE, Massillon, Ohio 44646.
