Ray Edgar Ott

Ray E. Ott, age 81 of Massillon passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 following an extended illness.
 
He was born October 8, 1934 in Newcomerstown, Ohio son of the late Edwin and Lela (McPherson) Ott. 
Ray was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the Navy.  He had retired from Nickles Bakery and worked as a Bus Driver for Jackson Local Schools. 
He is a member of Central Baptist Church and Massillon VFW #3124. 
Tennis, bowling, cooking and golf were his passions.  He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed the Cleveland Indians. 
Ray is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Nancy (Zeigler) Ott, son and daughter-in-law Mark and Jill Ott and grandsons Nathan and Noah Ott, son and daughter-in-law Douglas and Lisa Ott, brothers John (Gloria) Ott and Jim (Susan) Ott, sister Marge McCune and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Martha Slater and brother Earl Ott.
Pastor Randy Newcomer will hold private services with the family at a later date. 
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Crossroads Hospice, Louis Stokes Stark County Veterans Administration, Sarah Adult Day Care and Advantage Home Health Care for all their help and assistance with his care.
