Helen Henrich, age 97 of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Altercare of Navarre. She was born October 17, 1919, in Cincinnati to the late James and Gertrude (Beck) Francis. Helen worked for the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Team before moving to Massillon. First she worked for Stark Dry Goods and then she was a metallurgical secretary for Republic Steel Corporation in Massillon where she met her husband, Art.
Helen was a frequent shopper with an eye for being the best dressed, down to her high heeled shoes and matching handbag. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church for over 50 years, where she could be found nearly every Sunday in her pew, listening to “Butch” sing in the choir. One of the things she enjoyed more than anything was traveling often, whether it was a Sunday drive to nowhere in particular with her family, visiting with the “Lucky Jordans” and Art's 95th Infantry buddies and wives at various destinations across the country, or mushroom hunting with a few close friends.
Helen is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sue and John Hug of Massillon, granddaughter Amanda Conversino-Backur and husband Brian, great-grandson Dominic (Weetie), all of Boardman, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Arthur Henrich who died in 2000, sisters; Gloria (Roger) Vess and Jeanne (Bob) Weber.
